TRAVEL SUPPORT (MA Students)

OVERVIEW

MA students who demonstrate outstanding academic performance may qualify for travel support. Travel awards provide partial support of up to $1000 for domestic travel and up to $1500 for international travel. The award is merit-based and requires strong credentials, as well as a clear likelihood that the proposed travel will positively impact the applicant’s progress in the degree program. The funds can be used toward conference participation, interviews, fieldwork conducted for research purposes, or archival research.

Applications must be submitted electronically at least one month prior to the travel date.

There are no restrictions on the student’s research field. First priority is given to students working in the humanities and second priority to those in the social sciences. Interdisciplinary research is assessed on an individual basis. A clearly stated travel objective, along with a detailed itinerary and budget breakdown, is required at the time of application. This travel support is normally awarded only once during a student’s program.
